This morning, we spent some time building growing and shrinking patterns using sidewalk chalk. The class had lots of fun, challenging each other to continue their patterns. This is a great thing to try outside at home. One person writes the first 3 terms in a pattern, like for example
4, 10, 16, _, _, _, ...
The other person has to guess the pattern rule and continue the pattern. Sidewalk chalk isn't required, but it sure makes everything more fun. 😄
Remember to check out our EQAO math practice activities on Showbie. The students have worked through all kinds of different problems using the iPads, and we have become really efficient when using our Apple TV in the classroom to share our thinking on the big screen.
